Gentle
Hand Soap

A fresh batch every few weeks — a quarter-bar of natural soap, hot water, a teaspoon of glycerin. Gentler on hands than supermarket pump soap, and a single 100 g bar refills the bottle four times over.

Yield
250–300 ml
Time
15min + cool

~10% w/v
Ingredients
  • 20–30 g Grated natural bar soapAbout a quarter of a 100 g bar.
  • 250 ml Distilled waterFiltered or boiled-and-cooled works.
  • 1 tsp Vegetable glycerin~5 ml. Adds slip, stops drying.
Foaming dispenser?

Fill the bottle 1/4 with the soap mix, top up with water. The foamer does the rest.

Method
  1. Heat the water. Just-boiled is ideal — the soap dissolves quickly.
  2. Add the grated soap. Stir gently until fully dissolved.
  3. Stir in the glycerin. Let cool completely — it thickens as it cools.
  4. Pour into a pump bottle. Shake before first use. Done.
Storage

No preservatives — make small batches, use within 3–4 weeks. Smells off? Bin it and start fresh.
